About this project

A major state-owned enterprise in Quebec chose Falcon International to oversee the importation and coordination of oversized metal storage racks destined for multiple distribution centers across the province. After years of working together on high-volume and specialized logistics movements, this client saw an opportunity to leverage Falcon’s proven expertise in oversized cargo, compliance, and precision-forwarding. The project required continuous coordination across Europe and Canada with zero tolerance for delays. Since its launch, Falcon has successfully orchestrated a steady flow of shipments from Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands while maintaining full compliance and keeping demurrage and storage costs at an absolute minimum.

The Story BEHIND
THE MOVE

The client manages a vast and fast-expanding distribution network. To support new infrastructure growth, they initiated a major initiative to import non-assembled steel racking systems—each unit exceeding 16 metric tons and requiring meticulous handling.

This project called for a logistics partner capable of managing up to five containers per day while ensuring flawless alignment between European suppliers, international agents, customs authorities, and Canadian trucking partners.

Before partnering with Falcon, the client had experienced repeated documentation delays, inconsistent data from suppliers, and lengthy customs compliance issues. Under the leadership of Project Manager Sangeeta Patel, Falcon created a comprehensive SOP that standardized processes, strengthened inter-stakeholder communication, and brought total clarity to documentation requirements from origin to final delivery.

The Challenges Faced
& Overcame

Key challenges included:

1- Conflicting delivery addresses provided by the supplier, risking split shipments and delays

2- Incorrect cargo dimensions for a U.S.-bound truckload requiring open-flatbed transport

3- Supplier not yet registered under the CARM (CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management) system

4- Sudden increases in U.S. transit tariffs affecting project costs

5- Coordination requirements between four European agents and multiple Canadian stakeholders

Falcon’s proactive leadership ensured each challenge was resolved without disrupting the project schedule.
