Context
Severe Typhoon Dolphin, the 13th typhoon of the 2026 season, is moving toward the Ryukyu Islands. Its path should become clearer in the coming days. Current forecasts indicate a possible landfall near the Yangtze River estuary or Zhejiang around August 9, or a northward turn along the coast affecting Jiangsu, Shanghai and the Shandong Peninsula on August 10 or 11.
Potential Consequences
Strong winds and heavy rainfall could disrupt port operations, vessel schedules, trucking services and warehouse activity across key logistics hubs in eastern China. Shanghai, Ningbo-Zhoushan and surrounding regions may face temporary closures, congestion and cargo delays. Schedule changes could also affect connecting services and create delays after operations resume.
